Quick catch up with our Chief Editor, Simon Cocking, who will be speaking in Bordeaux this week at the Fin&Tech event, more information about the event here.
1 min pitch for what you are doing now?
Lots of things going on, always good to have a mix of projects happening, and one usually helps to inform and inspire the others. Also writing, interviewing people, speaking, reading and reviewing new business books.
How was the last year, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?
It was a great year. We are seeing steady growth is great. What is working well is that we cover a diverse range of subjects, and have a strong team of writers, each working to their own strengths. It’s a pleasure to have so many talented contributors, each leaders in their own areas, and to read what they have to say. Travelling to speak in Monte Carlo and South Korea was also great, productive, and two places on my list to visit.
?Les jours défilent nous sommes plus qu’à 4 jours de notre événement !
?Vous avez l’habitude de vous y prendre à la dernière minute ?
?Il n’est pas trop tard pour prendre votre place?

What are your plans for the future?
To grow our news platform, bring in more writers, from more parts of the world, and to continue to tell relevant and interesting stories, and if we can feature more positive green and clean tech, then even better too. With the growing rise of climate-related issues it is important to raise awareness about both the need to make changes quickly. We are also publishing 1,000 new articles approximately every 100 days, so we’d like to stay close to that level going forwards too.
What will you be talking about at this event?
I will be the moderator : Simon Cocking (Irish Tech News)
With the following speakers : Patrice Bernard (Kaira Technologies), Frédéric Boy (Widmee), Philippe Dyseryn (WhA Payments), Marc Lanvin (Banque Casino), Sophie Guibaud-Stevensen (PayU)
“J’aime me projeter dans 10, 20 ans et imaginer un monde où la #banque est devenue invisible grâce à la servicisation qui n’en est qu’à ses débuts (et avec l’aide de #Kaira, j’espère !).”@cestpasmonidee @KairaTech @SimonCocking @FnTSummit @Irish_TechNews https://t.co/SejaxR3ghQ

Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?
There are many many smart people out there and twitter is a great tool for getting insights into many different, interesting people’s ideas and thought processes. If you are not using it, then you should think twice about this. Linkedin can be useful, and good for reaching out to people, Instagram is great for visual inspiration.

How can people find out more about what you are working on?
You can find me on Twitter naturally, also Linkedin (though it is a drag to only be able to have 30,000 connections) or email me at [email protected]
Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?
With this 5th edition that is taking place on 8 and 9 October 2019, Fin&Tech Summit reaffirms its strong support for innovation. During the different meetings, experts will go head to head with specialists, influencers and disruptors.
