Brisbane International Airport has been evacuated amid reports that a man has made a bomb threat after entering the terminal armed with knives. Specialist police have taken a man into custody, and police are conducting clearance searches of the International terminal. The man has been taken to a police station, where he will be interviewed. Brisbane International Airport has been evacuated amid reports that a man has made a bomb threat after entering the terminal armed with knives.

Specialist police have taken a man into custody, and police are conducting clearance searches of the International terminal.

The man has been taken to a police station, where he will be interviewed.


Aircraft and trains to and from the International terminal have been stopped, Queensland Police said.

There are no reported injuries to any members of the public or police officers.

“Police have made a declaration under the Public Safety and Preservation Act tonight at Brisbane Airport due an emergency situation,” a spokesperson for Queensland Police said in a statement.

The Australian Federal Police is also in attendance at the scene.

The airport’s domestic terminal remains in operation.
