Travelling in Europe should be on your bucket list especially if you like seeing places, learning about history and experiencing new things. They say it’s expensive to visit London, but doing free tours and activities will make it easier for you to stick to your budget.

Buckingham Palace

If you decide to visit the UK, going to Buckingham Palace and watching the Changing of the Guard are a must. It’s a sight you don’t get to see every day, so make sure that you make time to watch it. If you can, schedule your visit between July and October so you can visit the State Rooms which are only accessible during these months.

Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is a well-known church for royal weddings. It has a thousand years worth of history, including the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and a lot of tourists include this in their itinerary. For you to beat the crowd make sure you get there before 10 AM.

Borough Market

The Borough Market is where you can find the best kinds of cured meats, fresh pasta and different types of coffee you didn’t know existed. If you’re on a tight budget, you can skip on buying pricey stuff and appreciate the stalls and displays that vendors have to offer. It’s open all week, except for Sundays, so you can drop by the market for a quick and cheap breakfast fix anytime.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is a nice place to visit if you want peace and quiet after a hectic tour around the city. There are historic moments to look at and admire and fountains to wish at and splash about in. Love art? There are art installations to see at the Serpentine Gallery or if you want to sit and lie on the open grass here, that will do too.

Abbey Road

The zebra crossing in Abbey Road is made famous by The Beatles when they used it as an album cover. It’s a favourite tourist spot and people try to recreate the shot by crossing the pedestrian lane. It’s not advisable though because it’s a pretty busy road. There is a live camera though, so you can visit the website to relive the moment that you took the same steps as John Lennon and the gang did.

Platform 9 ¾

Harry Potter fans know this platform like the back of their own hands and visiting the iconic Platform 9 3/4 is like their pilgrimage. There’s a Warner Bros shop next to the platform so even if you’re unprepared for a photo, you can buy a Gryffindor scarf or a wand to get that perfect profile photo for your social media accounts.

The United Kingdom doesn’t have to be an expensive place to go to. Accommodations like www.heythroppark.co.uk should be within your budget, so you’ll still have extra to spend on good food and activities to enjoy and remember. There are free tours and stuff to do as long as you know which spots to go to, so here shows how you can still enjoy London even with a tight budget.
