WE’RE JUST DAYS AWAY from the launch of Huawei’s P30 flagship, and a new leak has shed some light on how much it’ll cost.

While last year’s Huawei P20 started at around £600 here in Blighty, WinFutures so-called “trusted source” has revealed that the entry-level Huawei P30 – which will pack 6GB RAM and 128GB storage – will fetch €749 (£640).

The higher-spec Huawei Pro P30 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will reportedly set you back €999 (£855), while a 256GB variant will fetch around €1,099 (£940). Rumours suggest there will also be a 512GB model, though there’s no word on how much this will cost yet.

The P30 and P30 Pro are scheduled to launch on 26 March and Huawei’s hype-building teasers have all-but-confirmed that the focus will be on the smartphones’ cameras.

While yet to be officially detailed, speculation suggests that the P30 Pro will pack a quad camera setup, similar to that found on the Galaxy S10 5G

The array is expected to be more unusual than that found on Samsung’s flagship; three main cameras will be aligned vertically on the device, while a smaller fourth sensor sits to the side, underneath the LED flash module. This oddly-positioned lens is likely a time of flight (ToF) sensor, which can be used for depth-of-field detection and potentially 3D mapping capabilities.

The cameras will also offer 10x optical zoom, according to rumours, which ties in with Huawei’s official teaser (below) which all-but-confirms that the camera on its next flagship will offer souped-up zooming capabilities.

The front of the smartphones will be a much more run-of-the-mill affair; you’ll find a waterdrop notch housing a front-facing camera, a 2.5D curved OLED panel with a 2340×1080 resolution and an optical fingerprint scanner built-in.

Earlier rumours claim the P30 and P30 Pro will also pack Huawei’s latest 7nm Kirin 980 processor and a USB-C port; the Pro model reportedly won’t offer a headphone jack, though this will remain on the lesser-specced Huawei P30. µ
