Police officers have arrested a man, 22, and a girl, 17, after two homeless people were set on fire as they slept in suspected deliberate arson attacks.

Two men were treated by the London Ambulance Service for minor burns on Monday.

The 22-year-old man and 17-year-old girl were stopped by police on George Street in Croydon and arrested.

The man was charged and will face court on Thursday.

The 17-year-old girl was bailed until a date in July.
