On July 9th we invited ten of our inspirational ambassadors – all customers and friends of Mindful Chef – to join us in East London for a day of filming and photography…and feasting, of course.

Our set was brought to life by greenery from our friends at Patch: the plant delivery service, so we asked them to share their top picks for transforming a space. From large statement plants to table-toppers, we’ve got you covered.

Our Co-founders Myles and Giles were joined by Fearne Cotton, Olympians Victoria Pendleton and Aimee Fuller, Run Dem Crew Founder Charlie Dark, Yogis Sanchia and Will Wheeler, Nutritional Therapist Kristy Coleman, Meditation Teacher Natalia Bojanic and Commonwealth Gold medalist and sprinter Reuben Arthur. Not forgetting Big Ken…

1. Big Ken

Big Ken is a Kentia Palm that can handle difficult growing conditions. Boasting long leaves that grow from a narrow base, Ken is excellent for filling corners without taking up too much floor-space. Place in front of a blank wall to add drama and cast beautiful shadows. We couldn’t resist adding him to our group photo above.

2. Pippa

Bring serenity into your home with Pippa the peace lily. Thanks to soft, dark green folliage, year-round flowers and a love for shady spots, Pippa is a great option for adding zen to empty corners of your home. Yes… we put her in front of a bright sunny window but we know for next time.

3. Penny

Looking for a fuss-free low maintenance plant? Penny the ‘Chinese Money Plant‘ is your answer. With glossy coin shaped leaves, Penny is the perfect little houseplant for a shelf or desk – spot her next to the mixing bowl on the middle shelf above. Some say if you place a coin in her soil she will bring you wealth and good fortune!

4. Rapunzel

Another low maintenance number, Rapunzel, the devil’s ivy, is the most versatile of house plants. Rapunzel’s heart-shaped locks grow quickly and hang beautifully, ideal for placing on bookshelves. We put her on the bottom shelf next to our artichokes. As well as greening up any nook, Rapunzel will get to work to cleanse your air of unwelcome pollutants – it’s a win win!

5. Kitchen garden

Last but not least, bring your cooking to life with fresh herbs. There’s nothing more satisfying than growing your own edible garden. If you have to limit yourself to just one purchase, we would recommend filling your kitchen with aromatic herbs from rosemary to mint. But then again, as a food delivery service we are a little biased.
